Last week, we had the pleasure of attending Landscapes 2015 (formerly the Green Industry Conference/Exposition). This was the first year that we had the opportunity to take all of our office staff and it was an awesome experience. Sometimes, it’s easy to get worn down around this time of year and all of the things that we learn at Landscapes really lights a fire under us again. The landscaping industry is a passionate industry full of people willing to share their experiences and mistakes. At Landscapes, we got to talk to industry leaders, attend seminars, and also see and test various products in the industry. I personally learned how to better utilize social media and also how to improve our customer service. We really take pride in our company and are constantly learning and asking questions and taking notes on how to better not only Envisioning Green as a business but ourselves personally. Here are a few photos from Landscapes in order for you to be able to get a better idea of what we experienced!
As you can see, this place was crazy busy! The indoor area had booth after booth of computer programs, hardscapes, small tools, snow equipment and so much more! This badge was our key to access it all both on Thursday and Friday. Also with this badge, we gained access to so many classes that absolutely blew our minds with knowledge. We learned more about paver patios, customer service, landscaping, outdoor living, how to be a better leader, and everything in between.
In this outdoor area (which is even larger than these pictures can show), you could test almost any type of landscaping equipment your heart could desire. For our guys in the office, this was their adult version of a candy store. This is an awesome opportunity to make sure that we are doing our outdoor living projects as well as our full service maintenance with the best equipment and most efficiently.
Before you feel too sorry for us for all our hard work while we’re out of town, I’ll share this picture. While we’re in Louisville, there are concerts every night at 4th Street Live. This year, we got the pleasure of seeing Kellie Pickler in concert and it was awesome. Her songs were some of my anthems when I was in high school so to see her live was really fun. It was a great week for us to grow as a business but, even more importantly, as a team. We met some amazing industry contacts and learned about some new products hitting the market. All in all, it was a great success and we’re already looking forward to next year. Although, if this year goes anything like last year, it will be here before we feel like we can blink!
