Pool Equipment, Automation and Covers.
The Systems That Keep Your Pool Running Right
A beautiful pool depends on what’s happening behind the scenes. At Envisioning Green, we primarily install Pentair pool equipment because it’s built for reliability, energy efficiency, and long-term performance. From pumps and filters to automation and covers, we help you choose a system that fits your pool, your budget, and how you actually want to manage it day to day.
Why We Use Pentair
Pumps
What they do:Â The pump circulates water through the filtration and sanitation system, keeping your pool clean and chemically balanced.
What we recommend: Variable-speed pumps, like Pentair’s IntelliFlo line, over older single-speed pumps.
Why it matters:
- Lower Energy Costs. Variable-speed pumps can run at lower speeds for most of the day and only ramp up when needed, cutting energy use significantly compared to single-speed pumps that run at full power around the clock.
- Quieter Operation. Running at lower speeds most of the time also means a noticeably quieter pool area.
- Longer Lifespan. Variable-speed motors experience less wear than single-speed motors that are constantly cycling on and off at full power.
- Smart Scheduling. Pairs with automation systems to adjust speed automatically based on what's actually running, whether that's basic filtration, a water feature, or a heater.
Filters
Options we install:
- Cartridge Filters. Low maintenance, easy to rinse or replace, and don't require backwashing. A strong fit for most residential pools.
- Sand Filters. A classic, reliable option that filters using a bed of specialized sand, cleaned by backwashing.
- DE (Diatomaceous Earth) Filters. The finest level of filtration available, ideal for pools where water clarity is a top priority.
Salt Systems
What they do:Â A salt chlorine generator converts dissolved salt in the pool water into chlorine, sanitizing the water without the need to manually add chlorine.
Why it matters:
- Softer Water Feel.Salt water pools feel noticeably gentler on skin and eyes compared to traditionally chlorinated pools.
- More Consistent Sanitation. The system continuously generates chlorine, which helps avoid the swings in chlorine level that come with manual dosing.
- Less Handling of Chemicals. No more storing and pouring chlorine yourself. The system handles it automatically.
- Lower Long-Term Chemical Costs. Pool salt is inexpensive compared to the ongoing cost of packaged chlorine.
Heaters
What they do:Â Heaters extend your swim season by raising water temperature beyond what the sun alone provides.
Options we install:
- Gas Heaters.Heat water quickly and work well for pools that are used intermittently rather than kept at a constant temperature.
- Heat Pumps. Use ambient air to heat the water efficiently, with lower operating costs than gas over time, though they heat more slowly and depend on outdoor air temperature.
Why it matters: The right choice depends on how often you swim, how quickly you need the pool ready, and your local climate. We’ll walk through the tradeoffs based on how you actually plan to use your pool.
Chillers
Why it matters:
- Comfortable Swimming in Peak Summer.Keeps water from getting uncomfortably warm during the hottest stretches of the year.
- Protects Equipment and Finishes. Excessively warm water can accelerate algae growth and put extra strain on certain equipment and finishes over time.
- Pairs with Heating. Many systems can heat and cool from the same unit, giving you control across the whole season rather than just extending the warm months.
Automation and Utilities
What it does: Automation systems let you control your pump, heater, chiller, lighting, salt system, and water features from one interface, whether that’s a wall panel, app, or voice control.
What we install: Pentair’s IntelliCenter and EasyTouch automation systems.
Options we install:
- One Control Point.Adjust everything about your pool from your phone instead of managing multiple separate systems.
- Scheduling. Set your pump, lighting, and heater to run on automatic schedules that match your routine.
- Energy Savings. Automation helps make sure equipment isn't running longer or harder than it needs to.
- Remote Monitoring. Check in on your pool's status while you're away, and get alerts if something needs attention.
Pool Covers
What they do: Covers reduce heat loss, cut down on evaporation, keep debris out, and add a layer of safety when the pool isn’t in use.
Options we install:
- Solar Covers. Affordable and effective at reducing evaporation and retaining some heat, though they need to be manually placed and removed.
- Safety Covers.Mesh or solid covers rated to support weight, providing a strong layer of protection for kids and pets when the pool isn't in use.
- Winter Covers.Designed to protect the pool and reduce debris and algae growth during the off season.
Automatic Pool Covers
Why it matters:
- Convenience. No manual setup or storage. The cover deploys and retracts with the touch of a button.
- Safety.A rated automatic cover can support significant weight, adding a strong layer of protection for families with young kids or pets.
- Heat and Chemical Retention. Closing the pool between uses reduces heat loss, evaporation, and chemical usage, which can meaningfully cut down on ongoing operating costs.
- Cleaner Water. Keeps debris out between swims, which means less time spent skimming and vacuuming.

How We Help You Choose
Every pool equipment package is different depending on pool size, how the pool is used, your climate, and your budget. During design, we walk through:
- Pump and filter sizing based on your pool's actual volume
- Whether a salt system fits your maintenance preferences
- Heating and cooling needs based on your swim season goals
- Whether automation makes sense for how hands-on you want to be
- Cover options based on safety priorities and how often the pool is used

Frequently Asked Questions
Not strictly, but it’s almost always worth it. The energy savings alone often pay for the price difference over a variable-speed pump’s lifespan, on top of quieter operation and less wear.
The system itself costs more upfront, but pool salt is inexpensive, so ongoing sanitation costs are typically lower over time.
In many cases, yes. Pentair’s automation systems can often be retrofitted onto existing pool equipment, though it depends on what’s currently installed.
Automatic covers cost more upfront than solar or manual safety covers, but they offer the strongest combination of safety, convenience, and long-term savings on heating and chemicals. We can walk through the cost difference during your consultation.
Yes, we can walk you through our maintenance and service options for your equipment after your pool is complete.
